Yountville has the smallest hotel market of the four main Napa Valley towns and the most expensive one. Eight properties clear our criteria. The median price snapshot across them is $614, against $247 in Napa and $245 in Calistoga. That is the defining fact about staying here and it should be the first thing you weigh.
What the money buys is position. Seven of the eight are inside our Highly walkable band, and Maison Fleurie sits 0.08 miles from the village center. Yountville is small enough that a hotel here means walking to dinner rather than driving to it.
Ranked by Chateau Score, which weighs guest rating, review confidence, location, confirmed features and category breadth. The full formula is published on our methodology page.

Chateau Score49.8Five of the eight properties sit in our highest price band: Bardessono, North Block Hotel, The Estate Yountville, Napa Valley Lodge and Hotel Yountville. Bardessono leads on rating at 9.6, though on 55 reviews.
The value case in Yountville is narrow. Maison Fleurie sits one band lower with a pool and the most central position of any property in town. It is an inn rather than a full-service hotel, with no spa, restaurant or bar, and that gap is the price of the saving.
Review volumes here are uneven and it changes how you should read the scores. Napa Valley Lodge holds 369 reviews and The Estate Yountville 281, both High or close to it. Bardessono and Hotel Yountville each rest on 55 reviews, which is a Limited base by our threshold.
That matters when comparing a 9.6 against a 9.0. A 9.0 confirmed across 369 stays is a more dependable expectation than a 9.6 across 55, even though the headline number is lower.
Yountville sits about 4.5 to 4.9 miles from our Highway 29 corridor reference point, roughly a third of the distance from downtown Napa. It is a reasonable winery base as well as a dining one, which is part of why the prices hold.
Not for the village itself. Seven of our eight selected properties are classified Highly walkable, and the town is compact. You will need a car or a tour for wineries.
We can report the gap rather than explain it. The median price snapshot across our eight Yountville properties is $614, against $247 in Napa. Bands come from stored snapshots, not live rates.
Napa Valley Lodge, with 369 reviews behind a 9.0. Bardessono scores higher at 9.6 but on 55 reviews.
Five of the eight: Bardessono, North Block Hotel, Napa Valley Lodge, Maison Fleurie and Hotel Yountville.
Choose Bardessono if you want the strongest all-round property in the valley and the price band is acceptable. Choose Napa Valley Lodge if review confidence matters more than the headline score. Choose Maison Fleurie if you want the Yountville position without the top price band. If the median price here does not work for your trip, compare Napa hotels or Calistoga hotels, where the medians are roughly $250.
