How it works

When you follow a "Check availability" link from this site to Booking.com and go on to make a reservation, we may receive a commission from the booking platform. You pay the same price you would pay going there directly.

What it does not affect

Commission is not an input to any part of our process. It is not a factor in the Chateau Score, in whether a property clears our selection thresholds, in the order properties appear, or in what we write about them. Properties without a booking link are selected on exactly the same criteria as properties with one.

Our trade-off sections exist partly as a check on this. A page that is genuinely trying to sell you a hotel does not tell you which travelers should book somewhere else.

What we avoid

We do not use countdown timers, room-scarcity messages, claimed discounts or price-guarantee language. We do not publish fixed nightly prices, because rates change daily and a stale price presented as current is misleading regardless of intent.

Why we say it this way

We avoid saying we are "100% unbiased", because it is an absolute claim that cannot be checked. The statement we do make is testable: the same published criteria are applied whether or not a booking link exists.
